« First look at this guy, you think, good look’n guy, but normal in many ways, then he sings and your jaw drops and your ears thank you for one of, if not the best voice I’ve ever heard. » – Live in Limbo

The debut album by Yoan #1 in sales in Canada for the second week in a row!

Montreal, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 – For the second week running, Yoan’s debut album tops the sales charts in the country, from coast to coast, in every language! The new country star in Quebec – and in Canada – already received a gold record on Saturday, given to him on the set of Salut, Bonjour!, a feat completed in only a week!

Yoan’s album features collaborations from his coach on La Voix, Isabelle Boulay, as well as rising Canadian country star Brett Kissel, who both perform memorable duets with Yoan: J’entends siffler le train, the French adaptation of 500 Miles by Hedy West, and Good Hearted Woman, the classic by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Yoan will be back on La Voix’s stage this Sunday for the finale and will sign with both his featured guests for the 2.7 million viewers on the TVA Network.

Starting at the end of the month, Yoan will launch his tour across Quebec. The first shows are already announced on his website, www.yoan.mu.

Yoan Launches His First Album! In Stores March 23

Finally, thousands of La Voix fans will get what they have waited for since last spring: Yoan, the winner of La Voix’s season 2, unveils his first album on March 23! Producer Rick Haworth and artistic director Anne Vivien combine to provide Yoan with an experienced team that helped the artist, who writes 7 songs on the album, create exactly what he wanted. Two guest stars also sing with Yoan on two memorable duets: Isabelle Boulay, his coach on La Voix, and Brett Kissel, Breakthrough artist of the year at the 2014 Junos.

Yoan’s popularity can be felt on social networks and even in stores. As soon as Baby What You Want Me to Do, his first English single, was sent to radio stations, Yoan shared the song with his fans and invited them to have a listen on SoundCloud. In less than 5 days, almost 80,000 plays were recorded. Adding to this the many pre-orders in stores, we can definitely talk about Yoan’s album as amongst the most awaited in 2015!

This album, with 75% of the songs in English and 25% in French, was essentially written by Yoan himself, even though we can find a couple of covers. Yoan does not only have an outstanding and particular voice, he also makes his mark as a new singer-songwriter, inspired by « new country », as he likes to describe his musical style.

Yoan can count on two famous and talented guests: his coach on La Voix, Isabelle Boulay, and the rising star of country who won the Juno for Breakthrough artist of the year in 2014, Brett Kissel. They sing on two magical duets, « J’entends siffler le train », the French adaptation of Hedy West’s 500 Miles, and Good Hearted Woman, the country classic written by legends Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
