Yoan is the winner of La Voix’s second season (Quebec’s version of The Voice) where he charmed the show’s millions of viewers with his rich, unique voice. He was 18 at this time (2014). Yoan launched his first solo album on March 23, 2015, and immediately broke records, selling 35,000 copies in its first week and staying on top of the sales charts for 3 consecutive weeks. The album received a gold certification in only one week and was certified platinum on the set of La Voix’s finale on April 14, 3 weeks after its release. To this day, over 130,000 copies were sold! The Canadian Country Music Association also honoured him for this accomplishment during its annual awards show by giving the artist a trophy in the category ‘’Top Selling Canadian Album of the Year’’. Yoan was nominated in the category ‘’English Album of the Year’’ at the 2015 Gala ADISQ Award.
On April 2, 2016, Yoan became the youngest Quebec artist to perform a solo show at the Bell Centre and on April 8, 2016, he was the first Quebec singer to perform his solo show at the Vidéotron Centre in Quebec City. Only a few weeks after its release, the DVD Yoan Live au Centre Vidéotron was certified platinum. In the fall of 2016, Yoan won the ‘’Top Selling Canadian Album of the Year’’ award at the CCMA Awards for a second year in a row and was nominated for ‘’Fan’s Choice Award’’. Yoan was voted ‘’Artist of the Year’’ at the Indie Awards in Toronto and won the ‘’Country Music Award’’ at the Socan Award. The artist also won the ‘’Show of the Year’’, ‘’Male Performer of the Year’’ and ‘’Public’s Choice at the 2016 Gala Country in Quebec. Even after a year spent working on his first french album away from the spotlights, he won the ‘’People’s Choice Award’’ at the 2017 Gala Country .
Yoan released his 2nd album Depuis longtemps on March 23rd, 2018 and was #1 in francophone sales in the country for 4 consecutive weeks. The artist created his own label and produced this album that is distributed by Select. Depuis longtemps won a Felix for ‘’Album of the Year – Country’’ at the 2018 Gala ADISQ Award and Yoan won the ‘’People’s Choice Award’’ at the Gala Country for two years in a row (2018-2019). The singer is now working on his third album that will be released in 2020.
